Gustavo Javorski

With a career spanning 17 years in Volvo Group, Gustavo has experience from his diverse roles within the group, including his most recent position as Specialist Geometrical Architect for Volvo Autonomous Solutions over the past 3,5 years. He has held positions in Cab, Chassis and Powertrain Engineering which contributed to his wide experience and holistic view. Gustavo strongly believes that the Autonomy Enabled Vehicles and Machines will play an important role in the near future of the transportation segment and he is excited to contribute to it.

Scalable Hardware Integration in Autonomous Vehicle Development

In this presentation, I will explore my experience with hardware integration in autonomous vehicle development aiming for scalabilty, focusing on the Common Architecture and Shared Technology (CAST) framework. I will discuss the unique challenges posed by long lead times for brackets and wiring harnesses in a rapidly evolving development environment. I will share challenges experienced during the integration process such as: handling the lack of requirements due to new technology, ensuring seamless, scalable integration of hardware components, stable interfaces and particularities of sensor and computing components.
