Oren Shalmy has spent more than 20 years in video technology, spanning post-production, broadcast, digital cinema, studio, and live event production before moving into video streaming. As a VidOps Engineer at Beamr, he builds high-throughput video pipelines with FFmpeg, GStreamer, and OpenCV. His work now centers on computer vision and AI integration — deploying vision models to automate media workflows and benchmarking perception systems for autonomous vehicle and physical AI applications. That sits at the intersection of data science and video engineering, and it shapes his view on what ML-aware video data means for AV teams.
