Miguel Acosta

Mr. Acosta was appointed Chief of the DMV’s Autonomous Vehicles Branch in August of 2018. Mr. Acosta has 25 years of experience in the public sector, with over a decade in executive leadership. Mr. Acosta’s previous executive assignments at the DMV included: Branch Chief over the Department’s Special Interest License Plate Program, International Registration Plan and Motor Carrier Permit programs; Assistant Deputy Director of Field Operations; and Chief of the Justice and Government Liaison Branch. Miguel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Davis, as well as a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Public Administration from the California State University, Sacramento.
