Developing next-generation SDVs and autonomous vehicles with Automotive Grade Linux SoDeV

24 Jun 2026
Room 2
Software, AI & SDV Architecture session 2
Decoupling software from hardware is central to the development of software-defined vehicles and ultimately autonomous vehicles, yet many auto makers are struggling to achieve this at scale. The presentation will discuss how auto makers and suppliers are working together to accelerate SDV development through the newly launched AGL SoDeV reference platform – a single, pre-integrated open-source package combining AGL's proven Unified Code Base with Linux containers, VirtIO, Xen hypervisor, Zephyr RTOS and other open-source components. Led by the AGL SDV Expert Group, SoDeV enables software-first development decoupled from hardware constraints and can run on real automotive SOCs, virtual machines or in the cloud. The presentation will outline the key components of the SoDeV architecture, share technical milestones from the community, and explore opportunities for contribution as the platform moves toward broad availability in 2026.
