Safety assessment has become one of the major interests in most countries that are adopting future automotive technology to reduce road accidents and minimize traffic congestion. This has increased the need for conducting safety testing of autonomous vehicles (AVs) before actual deployment in actual environments. In Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates, an autonomous vehicle regulation law has been approved for the safe operation of autonomous solutions in this emirate. In this regulation, a clear pathway has been proposed to establish safe operation of autonomous solutions in Al Marjan, a new island in Ras Al Khaimah.
