Lifecycle Validation of ADAS-Sensor Commissioning: From Production Line to After-Sales

23 Jun 2026
ADAS require reliable sensor alignment over the entire vehicle life cycle. This paper presents a lifecycle-oriented approach combining in-line sensor commissioning, end-of-line validation of the commissioning, and after-sales testing. By shifting commissioning from dedicated end-of-line stations into the production line, process time, floor space, and personnel demand can be significantly reduced. The commissioning is safeguarded in the end-of-line using static test benches or dynamic drive-through validation. Based on similar principles, after-sales methods enable dynamic functional testing of ADAS without ECU communication. The combined perspective demonstrates how production and after-sales validation strategies can be aligned across the vehicle life cycle.
  • Reliable ADAS functionality requires correct sensor alignment, ensured by in-line commissioning with reduced space, personnel, and cycle time.
  • Validation of the commissioning through static test benches.
  • ADAS functionality can be validated dynamically without ECU communication, enabling OEM-independent testing concepts.
  • The KÜS DRIVE test line enables safe, reproducible, and economical validation of ADAS functions over the entire vehicle lifetime.
  • Safety-relevant ADAS such as AEBS can be tested dynamically without risk to driver or vehicle, providing traceable quantitative measurement results.
