Challenges, innovations and outlook surrounding the development and safe deployment of ADAS and AV technologies
With the aim of improving driver comfort and road safety, OEMs have been pushing the boundaries of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) from Level 2 to more advanced levels of driving automation. The development of a Level 2+ system presents challenges, particularly in handling complex real-world scenarios, defining system boundaries, and ensuring effective driver interaction. This presentation will address these challenges from a data-driven development perspective, including an overview of the data flow in the development lifecycle, the combination of various data sources, architectural adaptations, customer-centric approaches, and safety evidence for complying with the new Driver Control Assistance System (DCAS) regulations.
- Understanding the data-driven development approach for tackling the complexities of Level 2+ driving assistance systems.
- Importance of data flow through the development lifecycle and the integration of various data sources for efficient system design and performance.
- Insight into the role of architectural adaptation, customer-centric strategies, and safety regulations in advancing the driving automation industry.
