Safety Assessment Framework for Autonomous Vehicle using Digital-Twin Based Testing

Safety assessment has become one of the major interests in most of developing countries to reduce the road accidents and minimize traffic congestions. This has increased the need for conducting safety testing for autonomous vehicle (AV) before actual deployment in actual environment. In Malaysia, a guideline has been established for public road trials of AV. However, these documents do not emphasize on testing framework to evaluate safety and security of AV based on Malaysian driving scenario. Therefore, safety assessment framework is developed which consists of five stages to evaluate the overall performance of AV before deploying in real-world environment.
